How many people use TikTok?
More than a billion, by TikTok's own last global statement (January 2024; "a billion-strong global community" in December 2024). It has published no global figure since then, and no daily figure at all. Higher numbers on other pages are not TikTok's (see below). Its newest regional figures are more than 200 million Americans and 189 million people in the EU.
| Global statement | When | TikTok's words |
|---|---|---|
| More than 1 billion people a month | September 2021 | "More than 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month" (TikTok newsroom, Thanks a billion!, 27 September 2021) |
| More than a billion people | January 2024 | "an online community of more than a billion people worldwide" (TikTok newsroom, Shou Chew's opening statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee, 31 January 2024) |
| A billion-strong community | December 2024 | "a billion-strong global community" (TikTok newsroom, Year on TikTok 2024, 4 December 2024) |
On who uses it, the one official line we found: "the average age on TikTok in the US is over 30" (January 2024; TikTok newsroom, Shou Chew's opening statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee, 31 January 2024). Age and gender splits on other pages are estimates, so we print none.
Is TikTok growing or declining?
Growing, by TikTok's own regional figures. In the EU it reported 159 million people in Feb 2025 and 189 million in Aug 2026. In the US, 150 million Americans in Mar 2023 and more than 200 million in Jan 2026. TikTok publishes no global series.
| Where | Reported | People |
|---|---|---|
| EU | Feb 2025 | 159 million |
| EU | Aug 2025 | 169 million |
| EU | Apr 2026 | 178 million |
| EU | Aug 2026 | 189 million |
| US | Mar 2023 | 150 million |
| US | Apr 2024 | 170 million |
| US | Jan 2026 | More than 200 million |
Across Europe (32 countries), TikTok said more than 200 million people in September 2025, "up from 175 million people last year" (TikTok newsroom, TikTok's community in Europe Tops 200 Million, 5 September 2025).
These are TikTok's statements, not ours. We publish no trend from our own data, because the creators in our index change over time.
Who are the most followed TikTok accounts?

Exact counts read from TikTok's public profiles on 4 November 2026, brand accounts included. We checked the list against Wikipedia's list (as of 23 October 2026): 48 of the 48 accounts are on both. TikTok publishes no official ranking, and the table stops at the first account we could not confirm.
How many views does a TikTok video get?
The median active creator's recent posts get 7,234 views. Bigger creators get more: 1,413 at 1K to 10K followers and 374,950 at 10M or more. As a share of followers it goes the other way: 45.34% at 1K to 10K, 2.18% at 10M or more.
| Followers | Creators | Median views | Share of followers |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1K to 10K | 30,694 | 1,413 | 45.34% |
| 10K to 100K | 48,695 | 4,839 | 14.91% |
| 100K to 1M | 40,735 | 18,850 | 6.85% |
| 1M to 10M | 13,213 | 75,850 | 3.41% |
| 10M or more | 1,013 | 374,950 | 2.18% |
| All | 134,350 | 7,234 | 13.74% |
Each creator's figure is the median plays of their newest 12 unpinned posts; each group's is the median across its creators. Creators who posted in the 30 days before we read them. See methodology.
What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
Across 86,735 creators, likes, comments and shares equal 6.50% of views at the median, and the middle half runs from 3.48% to 11.02%. A rate above the median for your size is a good one: 6.40% at 1K to 10K followers, 9.21% at 10M or more. Bigger creators are not lower here.
| Followers | Creators | Median rate | Middle half |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1K to 10K | 1,502 | 6.40% | 2.86% to 12.34% |
| 10K to 100K | 41,349 | 6.33% | 3.28% to 11.23% |
| 100K to 1M | 36,361 | 6.40% | 3.51% to 10.67% |
| 1M to 10M | 6,781 | 7.49% | 4.58% to 11.31% |
| 10M or more | 742 | 9.21% | 6.41% to 12.73% |
| All | 86,735 | 6.50% | 3.48% to 11.02% |
This rate is per view. Rates per follower come out differently, so compare only rates with the same method. A separate check on 4,871 individual videos at least 14 days old: 1K to 10K 4.84%, 10K to 100K 5.50%, 100K to 1M 6.44%, 1M to 10M 7.25%, 10M or more 7.70%.
How much does TikTok pay, and how many followers do you need?
TikTok's Creator Rewards Program asks for 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, and publishes no per-view rate in these pages, so we print none.
| Requirement | TikTok's words |
|---|---|
| Age | "at least 18 years old" |
| Audience | "at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days" |
| Video length | "over 1 minute long" |
| Views on each video | "at least 1,000 views on the For You feed" |

How much revenue does TikTok make?
We found no revenue figure from TikTok or ByteDance. Revenue numbers on other pages are third-party estimates, and they disagree (see below).
What TikTok has published is an economic impact report, which measures something else. PF Global's research estimates that TikTok supported "$81 billion in U.S. GDP and 410,000 American jobs" in 2025. The report also says TikTok "helped 9.4 million creators turn creative work into income, adding $6.6 billion in earnings", and added "$9.7 billion to the U.S. creative economy". That is U.S. economic activity, not TikTok's revenue.

Which countries have the most TikTok users?
TikTok publishes no full country table. These are the countries and regions it has named, in its own words. The second table is about creators, not users.
| Where | People | When |
|---|---|---|
| United States | More than 200 million | January 2026 |
| European Union | 189 million a month | August 2026 |
| Europe (32 countries) | More than 200 million a month | September 2025 |
| United Kingdom | More than 30 million a month | June 2025 |
| Southeast Asia | Over 460 million | November 2025 |
| Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand | 160 million, 70 million, 50 million | November 2025 |
Creators based in each country: views and engagement
The 15 countries with the most creators in our index, from the country TikTok lists for each of 136,270 creators. These are not user counts, and creator counts here only reflect who is in our index.
| Creators based in | Median views | Median engagement |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 8,880 | 8.01% |
| United Kingdom | 10,570 | 7.60% |
| Germany | 16,322 | 6.80% |
| Saudi Arabia | 20,250 | 3.07% |
| France | 19,075 | 7.38% |
| Brazil | 10,935 | 7.54% |
| Indonesia | 9,797 | 5.07% |
| Mexico | 11,834 | 8.27% |
| Spain | 16,650 | 7.33% |
| Canada | 8,981 | 7.85% |
| Philippines | 4,240 | 5.97% |
| Egypt | 15,800 | 3.56% |
| Italy | 14,267 | 6.29% |
| Pakistan | 10,975 | 4.31% |
| Vietnam | 12,700 | 4.00% |
Median views from active creators and engagement from creators measured in the last 30 days. Creators of very different sizes are mixed, so a country's median partly reflects who we track there.
How long are TikTok videos?
The median recent video runs 33 seconds, and 32.5% run a minute or longer, 30.7% over a minute (15,305 videos from 1,418 creators). Most are too short for Creator Rewards, which asks for videos "over 1 minute long".
Our June reading, in the Creator Rewards study, was 23.0% of 102,272 videos. This one comes from a different, smaller and fresher sample that leans toward bigger performers, so the two are not a trend.
Do longer videos get more views for the same creator?
In this sample the difference is small: length does not clearly separate a creator's better videos from the rest. For 419 creators with at least 6 videos 14 to 104 days old, the share of videos that beat that creator's median:
| Length | Videos | Beat the creator's median |
|---|---|---|
| Under 15 seconds | 683 | 46.0% |
| 15 to 30 seconds | 853 | 47.1% |
| 30 to 60 seconds | 809 | 45.9% |
| 1 to 3 minutes | 1,052 | 48.7% |
| 3 minutes or more | 152 | 53.3% |
Comparing a creator with themselves takes follower size out. It shows what happens, not why: creators may pick a length for the videos they expect to do well.
How often do TikTok creators post?
The median creator in this sample posts 6.54 times a week. By size: 2.41 a week at 1K to 10K followers, 6.69 at 10M or more. Bigger creators are also more likely to still be posting at all: 55.1% at 1K to 10K, 91.3% at 10M or more.
| Followers | Posts a week | Posted in 30 days | Creators read |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1K to 10K | 2.41 | 55.1% | 55,864 |
| 10K to 100K | 6.00 | 69.8% | 69,852 |
| 100K to 1M | 6.75 | 80.9% | 50,380 |
| 1M to 10M | 6.95 | 88.7% | 14,892 |
| 10M or more | 6.69 | 91.3% | 1,110 |
This is how often creators do post, not advice on how often to post; our posting study of 476 creators looks at what posting more does to views. Posts a week come from the fresh sample described in the methodology, which leans toward bigger performers.
Do brands and verified accounts get more views?
Brands get fewer views than unverified creators of the same size, in every band we can compare. At 100K to 1M followers the medians are 8,472 for brands and 19,100 for creators. Verified creators get more than unverified ones their size. We can't tell whether a badge helps or marks creators who already do well.
| Followers | Brand views | Creator views | Brand rate | Creator rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10K to 100K | 2,521 | 4,852 | 3.13% | 6.37% |
| 100K to 1M | 8,472 | 19,100 | 4.95% | 6.43% |
| 1M to 10M | 24,050 | 75,550 | 6.32% | 7.56% |
| 10M or more | 76,125 | 355,275 | 8.79% | 9.12% |
Verified against unverified creators
| Followers | Verified views | Unverified views |
|---|---|---|
| 10K to 100K | 9,820 | 4,852 |
| 100K to 1M | 30,100 | 19,100 |
| 1M to 10M | 119,350 | 75,550 |
| 10M or more | 532,200 | 355,275 |
"Brands" are profiles TikTok itself marks as organizations. "Creators" here are unverified profiles that are not organizations. Bands are shown only where each group has at least 50 creators. Rate is engagement per view.
How much content does TikTok remove?
In April to June 2026, TikTok reports "99.5% of violative videos removed before they were reported to us". In the EU, from January to June 2026, it "removed around 104 million pieces of content".
Automated systems accounted for "97.4% of all video removals" in April to June 2026.
Sources: TikTok, Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, read 4 November 2026; TikTok newsroom, seventh DSA transparency report, 31 August 2026. These are TikTok's own figures, not checked by us.
What do the top videos in hashtag searches look like?
The 236,366 top videos we stored from hashtag searches had a median of 717,025 plays, and the median one was 145 days old when we stored it. More were over a year old (28.0%) than under 30 days (23.5%).
These are the most played videos per hashtag search, stored 11 February 2026 to 18 September 2026, so they are viral by selection and say nothing about a typical video. Middle half 174,578 to 2,525,002 plays; median likes per play 5.31%. Counts are from when each was last read.
Which TikTok statistics are out of date or unsourced?
These figures appear on top-ranking TikTok statistics pages (Google results, checked 4 November 2026). None of them is a figure we could trace to TikTok.
| Quoted as | Where it comes from | What we print instead |
|---|---|---|

What do these numbers mean for creators and brands?
For creators
- Judge your views against your size. The median is 1,413 at 1K to 10K followers and 374,950 at 10M or more. Details
- Check your rate the same way. 6.50% of views is the median; the middle half runs from 3.48% to 11.02%. Details
- Length matters for Creator Rewards. Only videos "over 1 minute long" count there, and 30.7% of recent videos run that long. Details
For brands
- Follower counts overstate reach. A typical post gets views equal to 45.34% of followers at 1K to 10K and 2.18% at 10M or more. Details
- Your own account may not be the best route. Brand accounts got fewer views than unverified creators their size in every band we could compare. Details
- Check the source of any audience number. TikTok's own last global figure is "more than a billion", and the higher numbers we traced have no TikTok source. Details
These are readings of the figures above, not predictions for any one creator or campaign.

How we measured this
Our numbers come from TKMetrics' own index of public TikTok creators (193,906 live creators with 1,000 followers or more on 4 November 2026), read without TikTok's own analytics. Official figures are TikTok's own, each linked to where it was published. Three separate sets of data answer different questions, and we never pool them.
- Creator index (views, engagement, activity, countries, brands). 192,098 creators read in the last 30 days, 21 October 2026 to 4 November 2026. "Active" means they posted within 30 days of that read (134,350 creators). Follower size comes from the same record, with a cap of 170,000,000 so a bad read cannot top a band.
- Views are the median plays of each creator's newest 12 unpinned posts, then the median across creators. This includes posts younger than 14 days, which are still collecting views. For 1,457 creators we could compare, the median ratio of their 14 to 104 day median to this figure was 1.00, so the young posts do not move it much.
- Engagement rate is likes plus comments plus shares, divided by plays, over a creator's recent posts (86,735 creators with a full read 6 October 2026 to 4 November 2026). Few small creators get a full read: 1,502 at 1K to 10K followers, against 30,694 with a view figure.
- Fresh video sample (length, posting, comparing a creator with themselves). 38,119 newest posts of 3,415 creators, stored 3 November 2026 to 4 November 2026. It fills in queue order and leans toward bigger performers at 100K followers or more, so we do not use it for view figures. View comparisons use videos 14 to 104 days old.
- Hashtag top videos. 236,366 videos, the most played per hashtag search, stored 11 February 2026 to 18 September 2026. Most of their counts have not changed since then, and upload dates come from the video id. Used for one section only.
- Most followed. We read TikTok's public profile once for each account on Wikipedia's list and for our own largest creators, and keep a count only when it agrees within 10% with what we or Wikipedia already hold. The ranking stops at the first account that fails. Accounts on neither list cannot be detected.
- Limits. The index holds creators people looked up or that we discovered. It is not a sample of TikTok, so we publish no share of all creators above a follower bar and nothing about TikTok users as a whole. Trends over time come from TikTok's figures, not ours. Some stored counts are rounded by TikTok's public pages, which does not matter for medians.
- Refresh. Our numbers are recomputed monthly by a read-only script; TikTok's figures are re-read at the same time. The "Last updated" date changes only when a number does. More: how TKMetrics calculates TikTok stats.
